FEES
£40 per hour by the closest half hour unless a project fee is agreed and the fee is for my time not purely by delivery.
ONSITE MEETINGS
A 1.5 hour initial ‘meet and greet’ is granted at £0.00 for new clients to discuss a new or upcoming project. Onsite meetings regarding ongoing projects will be charged £100 + travel costs. All correspondence/specifications/feedback should be via email so that I can accurately digest everything. Please do not send information over different apps as I maintain a file containing all our correspondence for reference.
OFFICE HOURS
Office hours are 10:00 – 17:30 (UK time) Monday to Thursday. I am an independent freelancer and reserve this time to use at my discretion to provide flexible support for deadlines and client emergencies. Consequently I do not arrange meetings or plan projects on a Friday. As a freelancer, I work with different businesses across different time zones and varying office hours. I therefore kindly ask that you keep phone calls between 10:00 – 17:30 (London time) Monday – Thursday. Please note that I may accept arranged calls outside of this time by arrangement.
PLANNING
At onset I will request that you provide me with your deadline. I work methodically to achieve this with consideration to all my clients. Should you require an amendment to the deadline we initially agreed on, please contact me to review your new requirement. Due to other client commitments, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to meet briefs on short notice, although every effort will be made to accommodate your requirements. In the event where I have to work around existing client work, and work outside of published working hours, the following charges shall apply: o within 5 days – £60/hr on a week day o within 5 days – £90/hr on a weekend. I am sure you will understand that with the nature of this work, the most successful results come from projects that are planned well and without pressure.
PRIVACY
Please kindly respect my privacy out of published office hours. I plan my time carefully to meet deadlines, so if you have anything you wish to share with me, please leave an email which I will respond on my return. I am far more productive if I have a clear distinction between my office hours and the time I spend away from my computer. A charge may be added for nuisance calls.
QUALITY
Please check out my portfolio at jaynebradd.co.uk if you would like to see the diversity and standard of outcomes that I produce. As with any creative work, Graphic Design can be subjective, so it is therefore important to make sure that you like the work of your designer. I always do my best to meet the aims of every brief, however if at any point you feel that a design is not reflective, please be honest, provide feedback and communicate with me. I encourage constructive, proactive engagement as I want to deliver successful results that enhance your business and that I can be proud of. As mentioned above, I charge by the hour so if I am given a direction and you unfortunately do not like the outcome, you will still be required to pay for my time on the project for all hours up until notice is given. I shall provide an invoice on completion of the agreed work and will not accept non- payment due to negative feedback as I encourage dialogue within the contracted timescale for the work to resolve any concerns you may have. This is beneficial to both of us. I am unable to provide my time without remuneration. I personally find that the most successful results come from the projects that I can freely explore in relation to your brief. I will send you a questionnaire to help narrow down what you are after. Please note that micromanagement is un-constructive. You will have contacted me because you like my portfolio and need the help of a professional designer; I encourage dialogue but please let me be the designer. I do my best to proof-read and check the work but I must stress that I am not solely responsible for proofing as I am not a professional copywriter/editor and therefore require that you sign off and confirm the work before it officially sends to print.
PROCESS
Typically my design process follows the following steps:
- Brief
- Research
- Idea Generation (Concepts)
- Idea Development
- Refinement
- File Assembly
- Other e.g. brand elements, collateral
Each brief can however be quite different and so this process may adapt depending on the client’s needs.
