“Create a fun, inspirational, sports apparel brand that features a red panda character called Tan”
Red Panda was a really fun brand to work on! Not only did I get to draw pandas, but create a really fun, approachable brand with a burning passion for life! The use of a vibrant red color was essential for the brand name but this can sometimes be a little agressive and didn’t sit well for a company with a focus on outdoors and watersports. To combat this, I featured a red/orange tone (which communicates hope, health, and happiness) and paired this alongside blue which adds a youthful burst of energy and a great space for the red to ‘pop’ out on the design. A wood texture also adds an eco-conscious element to the brand personality, representing the many errors and trials that go into perfecting a sport. The design also has a vintage touch to communicate a well balanced company suitable for both children and adults.
What do I love most? I just loved creating the character ‘Tan’ and I can’t wait to see his many adventures!
